<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device which can adjust the backlash of a reduction gear properly and reduce the abnormal noise by the mesh of the teeth. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a big bevel gear 37 movable in an axial direction engaged with an involute serration 31b installed on the lower shaft 31 connected to a steering mechanism, a ring shape projection 37b installed on the one side shaft end part of the big bevel gear 37, a sleeve 38 inserted in the other side shaft end part and slidable to the lower shaft 31, a coned disk spring 39 for energizing the sleeve 38 to the big bevel gear 37 side and a small bevel gear 42 installed on the rotary shaft 41 of a motor and meshed with the big bevel gear 37. The backlash of the big/small bevel gears 37, 42 is adjusted by the coned disk spring 39 and the slanting of the big bevel gear 37 is prevented by the ring shape projection 37b and the sleeve 38.</p> |
