PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery having a high filling factor, a high capacity, a good cycle characteristic, and high safety by changing the thickness of the current collector of at least one of a positive electrode sheet and a negative electrode sheet in the direction of the sheet length. SOLUTION: A current collector changed in thickness in the direction of the sheet length is used, and the thickness of the current collector at the thickest portion is 1.5-3 times the thickness at the thinnest portion. The resistance and heat generated by the current collector can be minimized. As the method for changing the thickness of the current collector, rolling is applied at the ordinary temperature or in the heated state, and the thickness of the current collector is preferably controlled by its strength. |
