<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the dimensional accuracy of a pressed article by such means that the mobile range of molds is determined by exciting them, the relative positional error between the molds is estimated based on this result, and the molds are positioned so as to correct the positional error. SOLUTION: This mold positioning device on a press machine for molding a work 11 under pressure by inserting the work 11 between plural molds is equipped with the following mechanisms: (1) a male key 16 and a female key 17 to restrain the relative position of the molds 12, 13; (2) a mechanism to excite the molds within a clearance between the keys in such a state that the male key 16 is inserted into the female key 17 (e.g. a top force 13 is excited horizontally left and right and back and forth by making use of the attractive force of an electromagnet 21); (3) mechanism to determine the mobile range of the molds based on the result of the excitation (e.g. a moved range of the top force 13 is measured by a non-contact displacement sensor 24); (4) an instrument to calculate the relative position between the molds based on the mold- mobile range determined above (e.g. a computer); and (5) a mechanism to position the molds within the range of clearance between the male and female keys.</p> |
