PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the rigidity of the face part, neck part and welded apart of a golf club head and the directivity of a hit ball and enhance the mounting accuracy of a shaft. SOLUTION: The metallic golf club head which is formed with the neck part 11a to be mounted with a shaft at its end and the inside of which is formed as a hollow part is composed of a face member 11 which is integrally forged and formed with the neck part 11a and a hollow member which is welded to the peripheral edge of the face member 11 and forms the hollow part specified above. The face member 11 includes the face part 11b of which the front surface is formed as the face and the rear surface is formed flat and a rising part 11c which is formed to an annular shape rising to extend in the direction opposite to the direction facing the face from the peripheral edge of the face part 11b. The peripheral edge 11f at the rear end of this rising part 11c and the peripheral edge at the front end of the hollow member are welded to a butt state.
