PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner reduced in the production of a weak-electrifying toner even when the toner is made small in particle size, reduced in the produc tion of a toner with excess electrification, and having stable electrification performance. SOLUTION: This toner has >=5m<2> /g BET specific surface area and such a water content measured by Karl-Fischer method that a saturation water content (A) in an environment at 10 deg.C and 20% RH satisfies 200ppm<=A<=2000 ppm and a saturation water content (B) in en environment at 30 deg.C and 80% RH satisfies 2000ppm<=B<=7000ppm.
