PURPOSE:To generate a computer graphic picture less influenced by polygon reduction in respect of texture by calculating to what part of a polygon group generated by a polygon reducing means an origin reduced by the polygon reducing means corresponds. CONSTITUTION:Inputted data is a luminance value at the apex of a triangular patch and a triangle. In the polygon reducing means 1, the number of the inputted triangular patches is reduced. This is for expressing approximately a former shape by using a smaller number of the triangular patches. In an apex position calculating means 2, it is calculated to what position of the new triangular patch generated by the polygon reducing means 1 the apex reduced by the polygon reducing means 1 corresponds. In a polyhedron development generating means 3, the development of the triangular patch generated by the polygon reducing means 1 is generated. In a picture element value interpolating means 4, the luminance value at each grid point of a two-dimensional picture area to store texture data is determined from luminance value data the development has. |
