<p>An external rear-view mirror (10) has a support arm (12) and means (18) for mounting the support arm (12) to a motor vehicle. A longitudinal housing (20) defines an interior volume and open-faced front chamber. At least two vertically aligned support plates (32) are disposed within an open-faced front chamber (52) and are mounted directly to the support arm (12). The mirror assembly (10) is variably positionable relative to the housing (20) and the support plate (12) by a motor drive mechanism (62).</p> |
