摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a display with high contrast and also to enhance the brightness of the pixel of a transmission state with simplified configuration of a driving circuit by optimizing voltage amplitudes to be impressed on signal electrodes. SOLUTION: A pixel 1 is made to be a white display (transmission state) by making a voltage waveform 103 to be impressed on a signal electrode X1 to be Vsig/2 in a period t1 and -Vsig/2 in a period T1 and 0V in other periods and pixels to be formed by scanning electrodes Y2∼Y5 and the signal electrode X1 are made to be halftone displays. A pixel 2 is made to be a black display (light shielding state) by making a voltage waveform 104 to be impressed on a signal electrode X2 to be -Vsig/2 in the period t1 and Vsig/2 in the period T1 and 0V in other periods and pixels to be formed by scanning electrodes Y2-Y5 and the signal electrode X2 are made to be halftone displays. Then, the display of a liquid crystal display panel 10 is displayed with high contrast and also the white display parts of the panel are displayed brighter by performing drivings while using a voltage larger than the difference between an effective voltage making liquid crystal to be the light shielding state and an effective voltage value making liquid crystal to be the transmission state as a voltage amplitude value Vsig.</p>
