PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a document separation mechanism as making paper sheet supply for document surely after preventing any pollution on the document by improving the separational function of the document owing to variability of entering document abutting angle at the time of collision, concerning the document separation mechanism made to separate documents sheet by sheet after receiving them between a separation belt 32 and a paper sheet supply roller 34 with the tip end of the document on a document placing base abutting to the separation belt 32. SOLUTION: Such constitution is provided that a separation guide 52 having a separation belt 32 attached thereon as a document separation part 32 capable of making circumferential rotation can swing as making the shaft of a separation driven roller 53 as a fulcrum, and an entering document abutting angle consisting of angle between the surface of a document A on a document placing base 21 and the surface of part position to be made to collide with the separation belt 32 is made adjustable.
