<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a proper initialization to be carried out even in the case that an abnormal sheet feeding of a recording sheet occurs in an image forming device such as a laser beam printer or the like and further enable a useless operation to be eliminated. SOLUTION: A time elapsed after operation of a feeding means 4 for feeding a recording sheets is measured by a measuring means 3 and then a presence or an absence of the recording sheet on a sheet supplying tray 1 is monitored by a sheet presence or absence sensing means 2. Then, when the measured time measured by the measuring means 3 is within a predetermined time, an abnormal state of feeding (jam) of the recording sheet is detected by an abnormal state sensing means 5, resulting in that a CPU 10 prevents an initialization performed by an initializing means 6 from being carried out while the sheet supplying tray 1 is kept at its state of presence of the sheet, and then it performs an initialization after a display to remove the sheet is performed and then the sheet is fully eliminated.</p> |
