METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEALING NARROW AND LONG SPLICE PART OF ELECTRIC CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for covering a narrow and long cable splice in a sealed state. SOLUTION: A central part of a splice is covered in a cylindrical covering tube 70, and an exposed side part of the splice is formed on both sides thereof. A seal dam 24 is formed near to each end of the cable splice and around a cable near to each end part of the tube. The exposed side part of the splice is covered with a pair of cylindrical splice covering shell 30 having each opening end. The opening end of the shell 30 is mounted in a sealed state to the seal dam 24 to cover the cable splice in a sealed state. Then, the shell 30 and the tube are filled with hardening-type capsule material to make the cable splice in a capsule state completely.
