<p>A composition containing an anionic organic polymer, a polyphosphate, and an organophosphonic acid, where these three components of the composition are present in a combined amount synergistically effective for controlling the formation of inorganic scales in an aqueous system. Also provided is a method for controlling the formation of inorganic scales on surfaces in an aqueous system. The aqueous system is contacted with a composition comprising an anionic organic polymer, a polyphosphate, and an organophosphonic acid. These three components are present in a combined amount synergistically effective for controlling the formation of inorganic scales in the aqueous system.</p> |
