<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in a standby mode in a video tape recorder. SOLUTION: In the standby mode of a video tape recorder, battery power is always supplied from a small battery 12 to a timer circuit 10 and to a display circuit 11, while the AC side of a switching power supply circuit 3 is shut off by a switching circuit 4, and thus the operation of the switching power supply circuit 3 is stopped, and there is no power consumption at the switching circuit 3 and at a recording/reproducing part 5, and power consumption is greatly reduced.</p> |
