METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY CLASSIFYING AND IDENTIFYING TARGET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the time and labor required for manual operation by discriminating whether or not an object to be measured is a new target by means of mechanism- classified catalog updating and discriminating means and, when the object is discriminated as the new target, automatically performing mechanism-classified catalog updating operations. SOLUTION: A mechanism-classified catalog updating and discriminating means 9a receives the certainty each target for an object to be measured outputted from a mechanism-classified certainty coupling means 9 and discriminates whether or not a catalog is to be updated. When the updating of the catalog is not required, the means 9a outputs the certainty of each target as it is to a target selecting means 10. When the updating is required, the means 9a outputs the information on the object to be updated to a mechanism-classified catalog updating means 9b. The means 9b discriminates the mechanism to be updated upon detecting the information on the object from the means 9a and the mechanism-classified certainty of the object from a mechanism-classified certainty calculating means 8 and additionally updates a storing means 7. Since the catalog is automatically discriminated and updated, the catalog can be updated in a short time.
