<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water which contains toxic substance from leaking by detecting the penetration of water into a waste-disposal site. SOLUTION: Waste 3 are piled in a disposal pit 2 on inner surface of which a water-impervious layer 4 is formed. Covering soil 5 and a coating layer 6 consisted of a coating of hydrophobic substances are provided over the wastes 3. Then sensors 7 for electrically detecting the dry state are provided in the wastes 3. In case of the breakage of the coating layer 6 for shielding water, these sensors 7 detect the penetration of water into the wastes 3.</p> |
