Rinsing program for washing medical or surgical instruments

The process is with or without disinfection, in an automatic, program-controlled device. The program includes a water-introducing part at least one cleaning program segment in which a cleaning agent is mixed into the rinsing liquid which is being fed into rinsing container, and a separate post-rinse step of instruments, to form a water-introducing program segment. Program segments such as pre-rinse, one or more intermediate rinses and neutralisation of instruments, are used alone or in combination to form rinse program. The cleaning liquid of water-introducing part of program is dosed with cleaning agent based on anionic surfactant. The mixed liquid is circulated for short time over instruments. A steeping step is introduced into the selected rinse program, to act as pause for effective cleaning. A cleaning agent, for use in process, comprises (A) 5-30% anionic surfactant (e.g. sodium dodecyl sulphate) as protein-dissolver; (B) 5-20% foam-suppressing surfactant; and (C) water and solution aids to stabilise composition.
