<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device having high reliability in paper carry and to increase the kind of paper to be used by changing the position of a transfer roller in accordance with the rigidity of the paper so that the leading edge of the paper may optimally enter the nip of fixing rollers. SOLUTION: If the transfer roller 5 is fixed at a position shown by a solid line, most of paper advances in a direction P, so that the tip part of a pair of fixing rollers may be arranged on the extension in the direction P. However, the paper P advances on a locus drawn downward in a direction R by the effect of humidity or small thickness of thin paper whose rigidity is low. As a result, the paper 14 is jammed without being fed to the nip part of the pair of fixing rollers. This trouble is eliminated by moving the roller 5 to the position on a broken line by estimating such sagging. Then, the device is provided with a moving mechanism for displacing the position of the roller 5 nearly along the outer periphery of a supporting roller 11 through a photoreceptor belt 10 and an intermediate transfer belt in order to obtain excellent carrying performance regardless of environmental change and the kind of paper.</p> |
