PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent glass substrates of a liquid crystal shutter part from hitting an object and breaking, in a head mounted display device having a see-through function. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal shutter 5 having at least two polarized sheets (a), (b) and a liquid crystal molecular layer LC arranged between the two glass substrates G, G on an incident light axis of an outside image is used as a liquid crystal shutter 5. The polarizing sheet (b) positioned at least on the outside is arranged by being away from the glass substrate G. The polarizing sheet (b) is usually easy to bend, and therefore, in case the object hits the liquid crystal shutter 5, the object hits to the polarizing sheet (b), only causing the polarizing sheet (b) to deform without hitting to the glass substrate G, and thus, the glass substrate no longer breaks. |
