PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a staple food not deteriorating the taste of nonglutinous rice, capable of resisting its change with time and useful for antidiabetic treatments of dietary treatments as a staple food low in saccharide content and in calorie, although cooker rice comprising nonglutinous rice and devil's tongue granules has a deteriorated taste and the considerable smell and tooth touch of the devil's tongue granules and is softened with water oozed from the devil's tongue grains with time. SOLUTION: This staple food is obtained by compounding 100wt.% of nonglutinous rice, 20-50wt.% of glutinous rice, <5wt.% of scented rice and 40-100wt.% of granular devil's tongue with water in a smaller amount by 10-30wt.% than that of usual cooking water and subsequently cooking the mixture. |
