When hay in the field is cut, it is left to dry before being baled. The hay stores better if its moisture content is low. To help the drying process a rake is often used to turn the cut hay. This may beraked several times if the weather prevents fast drying of the hay. In this invention, when the rake is attached to a tractor by means of a single point hitch, a lifting mechanism has been designed to lift the rake, above the cut hay. The invention enables the farmer to have complete control of where and when he wants to lower or raise the mechanism. He can also use it to select the height he wants to rake. It also helps to protect the raking mechanism when being towed on a road or bumpy surface.
