<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively obtain the subject derivative useful as an intermediate of a carbapenem-based antibody having an excellent antimicrobial action in a high yield and selectivity by using a specific enolate compound. SOLUTION: A compound represented by formula I (R<1> is a protecting group of OH group; Z is an eliminable group) is reacted with a compound represented by formula II (R<2> and R<3> are H or a lower alkyl), a compound represented by the formula M(Cl)4 (M is titanium atom or zirconium atom) (e.g. titanium tetrachloride) and an enolate compound prepared from a base (e.g. diisopropylethylamine) at 25-40 deg.C for 10min to 2hr to provide the objective compound of formula III, e.g. 3-[(R)-2-[(3S, 4R)-3-[(R)-1-t- butyldimethylsiloxyethyl]-2-oxoazetidin-4-yl]propionyl]-4,4-dimethylth iazolidin-2- thione.</p> |
