PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high speed data transmission by connecting a data terminal such as an existing telephone set, a facsimile equipment and a MODEM to the radio communication system via a radio adaptor using a single telephone set interface (SLTi/f). SOLUTION: In this radio communication system by which radio communication is conducted between a master set and a radio adaptor or between the radio adaptors, the radio adaptor is configured as shown in Figure. Status information of a data terminal 501 to be connected is grasped by a terminal control section 507 via an SLTi/f 506. Similarly an ADPCM CODEC 508 receives analog transmission data via the SLTi/f 506, applies A/D conversion to the data into PCM data. A channel CODEC 509 adds a header to the data to be sent and assembles the data into a prescribed frame and a radio section 503 modulates and transmits it. In the case of reception, the radio section 503 receives and demodulates a radio wave and the channel CODEC 509 disassembles the frame into signal data and the ADPCM CODEC 508 converts the data into analog data and the data are outputted to the data terminal 501 via the SLTi/f 506. |
