FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: textile material in the form of fiber compacted into bales, packs, bundles or heaps is treated by 2- 5% aqueous bischofite solution by way of impregnating of or spraying solution on surface layer of raw material. Fire-protection property of treated material retains for no less than one year when protected against moisture and mechanical damage. When necessary, bischofite is readily washed away by water.
