PURPOSE:To enable automatic measurement of a tightening force of a tilt lever by measuring a shifted position of rotation of the tilt lever by a prescribed load and by comparing the shifted position with a reference value for determination. CONSTITUTION:A steering column A is fixed on a measuring table 1 by a clamp 2, and an input is made to a display unit so that a tightening end position of a tilt lever A3 be detected electrically as a reference value. This is executed in such a manner that the position of the end of tightening is stored in CPU through a distance sensor 9 when a cylinder rod 6a of a fluid pressure cylinder 6 for measurement is lowered by a load Fn. Then, loosening and tightening of the lever A3 are repeated several times mechanically. Concretely, fluid pressure cylinders 4 and 5 for lowering and raising are driven alternately and thereby the lever A3 is rotated up and down. Next, the cylinder 6 is lowered and measurement is conducted. On the occasion, the prescribed load Fn is applied, being started from the position of rotation of the lever A3 in the state of loosening, a shifted position Xn taken by the rotation of the lever A3 is detected electrically, and the position Xn and the reference value X0 are compared and determined. |
