CARD CLOTHING AND METHOD FOR ATTACHING IT ON SURFACE OF CARRIER DRUM

FIELD: textile equipment. SUBSTANCE: card clothing adapted for attachment to carrier drum surface has base formed as carrier belt and strip of resilient material fastened to carrier belt and combing metal needles attached to strip. Length of carrier belt exceeds that of strip of resilient material. Method involves providing card clothing in the form of strip of resilient material with combing metal needles projecting from strip; placing card clothing on carrier drum surface so as to define endless loop and fixing it to drum surface; attaching strip of resilient material to carrier belt so that ends of resilient strip may be brought in contact one with another; bending ends of carrier belt to inner side of endless loop and fixing these ends by partially arranging them between legs of L-shaped bracket; cutting axial slot in drum surface; mounting card clothing on drum surface by advancing U-shaped bracket to axial slot in drum surface and making U-shaped bracket an interference fit in this slot. EFFECT: increased efficiency by easy replacement of card clothing and uniform spreading over outer surface of drum. 5 cl, 8 dwgs
