FIELD: bridge-building industry. SUBSTANCE: this can be used in building and reconstruction of arch bridges. Arch bridge has bank supports with pivoted supporting parts, arch resting on supports with flexible bracing unit which is anchored by its ends in arch at level of hinges of supporting parts and located below their level, and carriage way. Bracing unit is provided with system of weights which are suspended from it or resting on it. Weights are used to compensate for thrust of arch. Weights are made in the form of members suspended from bracing unit over its length or in the form of members having coaxial internal through-passages with bracing unit inserted through them. Bridge carriage way can be used in function of weights. Bracing unit is connected with bridge carriage way by means of posts or hangers. Aforesaid embodiment of bridge offers possibility for increasing covered span due to improved conditions for working structural components and redistribution of forces in them without any sufficient increase in amount of materials used.
