<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new allergen, contained in an extract solution of an excreta during the culture of a mite and comprising a glycoprotein having allergenic activities and a specific molecular weight without inducing anaphylactic reaction and useful for diagnosis, treatment, etc., of mite allergic diseases. SOLUTION: This new purified mite allergen is a glycoprotein, contained in an extract solution of an excreta during the culture of a mite, containing about >=40% glucide and having 1,500-5,000 molecular weight [measured by a gel filtration method with Sephadex G25 (R)] and allergenic activities without inducing an anaphylactic reaction and is useful as a therapeutic agent and a diagnostic agent, etc., for mite allergic diseases. The purified mite allergen is prepared by carrying out the extraction treatment of the excreta during the culture of the mite such as Dermatophagoides farinae with a saturated saline and/or a buffer solution having a medium ionic strength and fractionating the resultant extract solution according to a technique such as the gel filtration.</p> |
