A device for clamping parts (4), in particular metal sheets, in a motor vehicle mounting line, has a console (1), a support (3) for the parts (4) that may be secured on a top stop (2) of the console (1), and a pneumatic clamping device (5) that actuates a pressure piece (6) that can be clamped against the parts (4) mounted on the support (3). In order to obtain a console (1) made of a few components with various spatial positions of the clamping point between the support (3) and the pressure piece (6), at its base the console has a clamping block (7) and a centring piece (8) for a stay (9) that can be secured thereon, and the top stop (2) acts with its bottom side as a centring element (10) for the stay (9) that can be secured thereon.
