<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound derivative useful as a synthetic intermediate for an antiviral agent, comprising a specific 6-O-(2-pyrimidyl)-2,3- dideoxy-2, 3-didehydro-1-thiohexopyranoside derivative. SOLUTION: This new 6-O-(2-pyrimidyl)-2,3-dideoxy-2,3-didehydro-1- thiohexopyranoside derivative is shown by formula I (R<1> is an ordinarily usable hydroxyl group-protecting group such as an acyl, an arylmethyl or a trialkylsilyl; R<2> is an alkyl or an aryl; R<3> is H, F, methyl or trifluoromethyl) and is useful as a synthetic intermediate for 3'-isohexopyranosyl nucleoside hopeful as an antiviral agent. The compound is obtained by reacting a 2,3-dideoxy-2,3- didehydro-1-thiohexopyranoside derivative of formula II with NaH and reacting the reaction product with a pyrimidine derivative of the formula III.</p> |
