FIELD: processes and equipment for cutting metals and other hard materials. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing elongated charge of explosive matter on one surface of cut material and initiating said charge in the form of monolythic chute with two walls symmetrical relative to symmetry plane passing through lengthwise axis of charge and mutually joined by bridge; filling chute cavity by non-gaseous inert filler; placing charge on surface of cut material by ends of its walls spaced from bridge; coinciding symmetry plane of chute-like charge with cut line and shaping ends of both walls according to surface of cut material; initiating charge at side of bridge by means of detonator arranged in symmetry plane of charge; using material with low acoustic rigidity as filler of chute cavity.
