The method is for applying a new running surface to a pneumatic tyre and comprises providing a liq. adhesive layer on the roughened surface of the tyre. An intermediate rubber layer is placed on the adhesive layer and a liq. adhesive layer is provided on the toughened inner layer of the new running surface. - The new running surface with the adhesive layer is then placed on the intermediate rubber layer, and the running surface is made vulcanise. The adhesive layers are applied as a layer of quickly vulcanising liq. rubber. soln. An inflatable bag is placed in the tyre and strip material is helically wrapped around the tyre and bag assembly in at least one layer pref. 2-3. and a pressure of around (kg/cm2 is created in the bag by pumping. |
