The connecting devices locate along the outside of the first segment. When the first segment (10) with the foot piece and connecting devices on being pressed into the ground reaches a rigid layer, the foot piece with the connecting devices is driven more deeply into the ground in relation to the first segment, so that the connecting devices connect the foot piece along the segment. The connecting devices and foot piece are driven more deeply into the ground in relation to the first segment by means of a pile driver. The foundation pile (1) with the aid of pressure devices is pressed into the ground along the connecting devices in the direction of the foot piece, so that the first segment follows the foot piece.
