PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material capable of being extruded and being suitably used together with a wood member and a metal member. SOLUTION: A composite material 30 includes a thermoplastic resin 32 and a glass fiber fabric material 31. A preliminary extrusion process of the fabric material in the composite material is performed before bonding between the fabric material and the thermoplastic resin. In a final state of the product, the thermoplastic resin is brought into close contact with the fabric material, thereby substantially covering the fabric material as a whole. Edges 35, 36 of the fabric material are folded back, and fraying, etc., at the edges are prevented. The extruded member of the composite material includes a single glass layer and has a shock strength of at least 704 g/cm<2> (10 lbs/inch<2> ).
