The yarn feed system for an elastomeric yarn, to a knitter, has a yarn bobbin (4), a second rotating unit (8) and a further rotating unit (9) at an axial gap from the second unit (8). The yarn (33) travels over part of the peripheral surface of each rotating unit (8,9). The third rotating unit (9) has a drive system (10,11,13,15) to give it a surface speed at least equal to the surface speed of the second rotating unit (8). USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. is for the delivery of a stretch, elastomeric yarn to a knitter with a given yarn tension. The mechanism controls the yarn tension to give a precise length of yarn delivered to the knitter for each machine rotation. |
