PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection color liquid crystal device of new basic constitution excellent in brightness and hue reproducibility, etc., by forming at least either one layer of guest host liquid crystal layers into the guest host layer being an arrangement state having no twist excepting the arrangement state vertical to a substrate. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal device is constituted of a protection layer 11, a diffusive transmission layer 12, a transparent substrate 13 may having an electrode, an oriented layer 14 for orienting a guest host liquid crystal, a first guest host liquid crystal layer 15, a second guest host layer 16, an optical film 17 having an area of a different retardation, the oriented layer 18 of an optical film, an insulation layer 19 may sharing with the electrode and the substrate 20. In such a constitution, at least either layer of the guest host layers 15, 16 is formed into the guest host liquid crystal layer being the arrangement state having no twist excepting the arrangement state vertical to the substrate 20. Thus, the reflection color liquid crystal device excellent in whiteness, brightness and hue reproducibility and suitable for a use of a portable information equipment, etc., is realized. |
