PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retractor for seat belts, which is equipped with a cheap energy absorbing mechanism, and which is capable of positively regulating the amount of deformation of a plastically deforming means within a specified range. SOLUTION: A stopper means 50 consisting of a through hole 110 to which a drawing process is applied inside a side plate 101a, and three lock pieces 3 which are arranged on the end face on the locking base side of a bobbin 1, and which is capable of being engaged with the inner peripheral surface of the through hole 110 to prevent the rotation of the bobbin 1 in the direction of drawing the webbing against a side plate 101a, is constructed between the side plate 101a and the bobbin 1. Further, a control plate 4 which engages the lock pieces 3 with the inner peripheral surface of the through hole 110 when a torsion bar 2 is torsionally deformed and the rotation of the bobbin 1 in the direction of drawing the webbing against a locking base 5 reaches over a specified amount, is provided between the locking base 5 and the bobbin 1. |
