<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance convenience by providing a function for setting a recording start time, detecting a video signal from an externally connected tuner and controlling the recording section into a recording state when a set recording start time is reached thereby making the tuner available even under a state for waiting the recording. SOLUTION: An externally connected tuner section 11 comprises a CS tuner and a cable TV tuner and the starting time and channel of a program to be reserved for recording are set previously. At the same time, a recording start time is set at the start time setting section 14 of a VTR 12. A video detecting section 13 receives a signal from the tuner section 11 and delivers the information of a video signal, if any, to a control section 15. The control section 15 receives a video signal detection signal from the video detecting section 13 and controls a recording section 16 to record video and audio signals if a recording start time set at the start time setting section 14 is reached.</p> |
