PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a terminal side suppress the time until video is reproduced as much as possible in a video-on-demand system which stores video information and also immediately sends a program to a terminal in response to the program reproduction request from the terminal. SOLUTION: In a video information transmitting method from a server to a terminal in a video-on-demand system, video information that is inputted to a server 3 is stored in a storage device 34, and also, video information for M (M is a positive number) seconds which is always latest is overwritten and stored in memory 33. When video information that is requested from terminals 51 to 53 is video information within the latest N (N is a positive positive number that is N<=M) seconds, video information is read from the memory 33 and sent to terminals, and when the video information requested from terminals is not video information within the latest N seconds, video information is read from the device 34 and sent to the terminals. |
