PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoresis device which detects fluorescence- labelled DNA with high sensitivity. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a plurality of electrophoresis passages (2 and 3) containing polyacrylamide gel in which nucleic acid samples labeled with fluorescent substances migrate, a light source 1 to emit laser light to irradiate a plurality of electrophoresis passages, and a light detecting means 10 (6, 7, 8, and 9) to detect fluorescence emitted from the fluorescent substances by the irradiation of laser light 4. In this case, a plurality of electrophoresis passages is irradiated and scanned with the laser light 4 with a frequency of 530 nm or more, and the light detecting means 10 detects fluorescence from the nucleic acid samples migrating in the electrophoresis passages or changes 14 in the intensity of fluorescence for every electrophoresis passage. In this way, it is possible to detect a minute amount of fluorescence-labeled DNA. |
