PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device by which a temperature of a fixing means can be rapidly changed to a setting temperature. SOLUTION: This fixing device is equipped with a fixing roller 52 by which a developer image is fixed on a medium P by passing and heating the medium P on which the developer image is transferred, and a control means 59 by which a heating mode of the medium P by the fixing roller 52 is varied to either a first heating mode or a second heating mode which is higher than the first heating mode according to the kind of the medium P, and also an auxiliary heating roller 57 which is installed near in the fixing roller 52 and heats the fixing roller 52 from the outside, when the heating mode of the fixing roller 52 is varied from the first heating mode to the second heating mode by the control means 59. |
