PURPOSE:To obtain a vibration-clamping composite material having an excellent vibration-clamping effect around room temp. by mixing a piezoelectric ceramic with a polymer resin and a repellant for water and oil and heating the mixture to solidify it. CONSTITUTION:About 80wt.% powder of a piezoelectric ceramic (e.g. lead zirconate titanate) is mixed with about 0.1wt.% solution of a repellant for water and oil (e.g. polydimethylsiloxane sulfate) and this mixture is stirred. Thereto are added about 14.4wt.% solution of a polymer resin (e.g. an epoxy resin) and about 5.2wt.% hardener. The resulting mixture is stirred sufficiently, subsequently degassed, and then poured into a mold. The mixture in the mold is heated in a hot-air drying oven at 100-140 deg.C to solidify it. Thus, a vibration- damping composite material is obtained which has an excellent vibration damping effect around room temperature (20 deg.C). |
