<p>A chain comprises a plurality of interconnected and pivotal link assemblies (1). Each link assembly comprises separable opposed link plates (2) each of which has a pair of spaced pins (3, 4) of that project toward the opposing link plate. Opposed pins of the opposed link plates are received in and retained by a roller (11) thereby interconnecting the link plates. In a preferred embodiment each pin has an outer arcuate surface (7) and an inner arcuate surface (8). The pins of adjacent link assemblies are housing together such that their inner arcuate surfaces are in rolling contact with one another thereby providing a rolling bearing that permits pivotal movement of the link assemblies. The outer arcuate surfaces are of common radius and serve to support a common roller that holds the link plates together.</p> |
