<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a monoclonal antibody capable of being used as an accurate measuring reagent of HTLV-II antigen and for the simple purification of a natural HTLV-II antigen by specifically recognizing the natural human T-cell leukemia virus(HTLV). SOLUTION: This monoclonal antibody specifically recognizing a natural HTLV-II antigen but not substantially recognizing HTLV-I, is obtained by e.g. administering a membrane penetrating region of a membrane protein or a peptide derived therefrom obtained by purifying HTLV-II obtained from a cell strain producing HTLV-II to animals to be immunized singly or together with an adjuvant for immunizing, fusing antigen producing cells with tumor cells by using a fusing agent after confirming the elevation of antibody titre to form a hybridoma, cloning the hybridoma with a suitable cloning method by using a selection medium such as a HAT medium, etc., culturing the selected hybridoma, and the separating and purifying the antibody from the supernatant of the cultured medium thereof.</p> |
