PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print various characters, symbols, indexes, and the like, onto a ticket, a tag, a pressure-sensitive label, and the like, processing information concerning to an indicia to generate a signal for driving a printer and then activating a specified part of a printer head and carrying a medium in response to the driving signal. SOLUTION: A print message is divided into one or a plurality of segments comprising an indicia and delivered as a segment command signal to a control circuit. The control circuit processes the segment command signal to generate a signal for controlling the operation of a printer. On the other hand, a printer head assembly processes the segment command signal to generate a corresponding printer operation control signal. A printer head assembly has a supporting structure for controlling the operation, e.g. pitching, rolling and yawing, of a printer head accurately. A self correction system is employed for winding a ribbon and a method for detecting the opacity is applied to transfer of a medium. |
