<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a freshness-keeping agent capable of continuously releasing a freshness-keeping gas and maintaining the freshness-keeping effect over a long period by holding a freshness-keeping composition containing an isothiocyanic acid compound in a self-supporting closed vessel having an opening sealed with a gas-permeable film. SOLUTION: A freshness-keeping composition 3 comprising a component containing an isothiocyanic acid compound such as mustard extract, horseradish extract and allyl isothiocyanate and a carrier such as natural mucous polysaccharide and organic acid is held in a self-supporting closed vessel 2 having an opening sealed with a gas-permeable film 7 such as polyethylene, nylon, PVA, cellophane/polyethylene laminate film and drawn polypropylene/undrawn polypropylene laminate film. The freshness-keeping agent is slowly released from the vessel through through-holes 6 under restricted permeation.</p> |
