<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure and reduce the cost of a self-propelled carrier having casters held turnable on vertical pivots on the right and left in the front and rear of its carriage so as to move along guide belts laid on the road surface by the drive of driving wheels in a drive unit. SOLUTION: A self-propelled carrier is provided in the underside center of its carriage 1 with a single travel sensor 15 having a plurality of detecting elements 15a to 15c lined up in the carrier width direction to detect guide belts. When this carrier running forward or backward is directed over in the other direction, the right-hand and left-hand detecting elements in the sensor 15 at running in the former direction are switched over as the left-hand and right-hand elements at running in the latter direction. This constitution decreases the required number of travel sensors 15 for cost reduction and simplifies the structure of the sensor 15 as well.</p> |
