PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safe angiotensinase inhibitor low in gustatoriness, free from any side effect, high in hypotensive action, and useful in foods/drinks or the like, by including, as active ingredient, an extract afforded by Eucalyptus macrocalpa or the like. SOLUTION: This angiotensinase inhibitor contains, as active ingredient, an extract afforded by Eucalyptus macrocalpa or Eucalyptus globulus, a plant belonging to the genus Eucalyptus, or a phloroglucinol derivative of the formula (R is C15 H23 , C15 H25 O, C15 H23 O2 or C15 H27 O2 and may contain double bond, carbonyl and/or hydroxyl, or may form a ring) such as macrocalpal A afforded by the above extract. It is preferable that this inhibitor is formulated at 0.01-5 wt.% in a food/drink, and the daily doses of the extract and the phloroglucinol derivative are pref. 10-10,000 mg and 1-1,000 mg, respectively. |
