<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester resin with good thermal stability, excellent color and transparency, a small contact of regenerated acetaldehyde, weaker ordor smell of filled materials, when used as bottles, and being transparent. SOLUTION: This polyester resin comprises a polyester comprising 95-85 mol.% of naphthalene dicarboxylic acid units and 5-15 mol.% of terephthalic acid units as acid components and ethylene glycol as a diol component. Therein the polyester resin contains cobalt element, magnesium element, calcium element and germanium element as catalysts and further a phosphorus compound as a stabilizer, wherein the contents of the elements simultaneously satisfy the inequalities: 2<=Co<=20 mmol.%, 30<=(Mg+Ca)<=150 mmol.% 1.5<=(Mg/Ca)<=5.5, 1.0<=P/(Co+Ca+Mg)<=1.5 and 10<=Ge<=50 mmol.%, (the amounts of the elements in the inequalities are ratios to the total amount of the acid components).</p> |
