PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for automatically assembling an optical module having an optical connector. SOLUTION: A housing 12 for an optical module is fixed to a stationary part 38. An optical element 22 is embedded into the housing 12. By finely adjusting the position of the optical element 22 with use of an XYZ stage 32, an optical axis of the element 22 and an optical axis of a connector part 16 of the module are adjusted. After the completion of the adjustment, an adhesive injecting device 46 is advanced to drop adhesive 28 around the element 22. Then an optical fiber bundle 48 is advanced to have the adhesive 28 thermosetted, thus completing the assembling work. |
