PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to display respective characters of alphabets, figures, KANA (Japanese syllabary), vertical double em characters and KANJI (Chinese character) on a small sized display with good appearance by displaying the figures, characters, etc., varying in font constitution dot number in accordance with attribute data. SOLUTION: A figure '1' of a so-called em is displayed in a digit 0 and line 0, a 'A' of a vertical double em in a digit 1 and a line 0 and 'KAN' (a KANJI) of a vertical and horizontal double em in digits 2, 3 and lines 0, 1. In such a case, the '1' of the digit 0 and line 0 exclusively occupies the one block of 8×8 dots. The vertical double em 'A' of the digit 1, line 1 exclusively occupies the two blocks of 8×16 dots. The 'KAN' of the digits 2, 3 and lines 0, 1 exclusively occupies the four blocks. Further, the conditions of the attribute data of 16 bits are shown with respect to the respective characters '1', 'A', 'KAN'. When the figures and characters, etc., are displayed on a display device in such a manner, the figures, characters, etc., varying in the font constitution dot number are displayed in accordance with the attribute data by inputting the character codes to be displayed. |
